The Sullivans Cove Waterfront Authority is the planning authority responsible for protecting, enhancing and developing Sullivans Cove and surrounding areas.

The aim of the Authority is to preserve the unique qualities of the Hobart waterfront, which defines the identity, vitality and image of the Tasmanian people.

The Authority is supported by the Sullivans Cove Design Panel, an expert advisory body whose members have specialist skills in architecture, urban design, planning and heritage.

Working collaboratively, the Authority and Design Panel aim to attain the best possible urban design and planning outcomes for Sullivans Cove.

Decision making is guided by the Sullivans Cove Planning Scheme 1997 and Hobart Waterfront Urban Design Framework 2004.
